Jail Inmate From North Liberty Faces 23 New Felony Charges

A North Liberty man faces a whopping 23 felonies.Nathaniel Matiyabo, 28, of North Liberty, was already in custody in the Muscatine County Jail — which holds overflow Johnson County inmates — on other charges when the North Liberty Police Department requested more charges be filed against him. Specifically, the department alleges that Matiyabo committed one count of ongoing criminal conduct, a Class B felony; and 22 counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, a Class D felony.Throughout the month of May 2014, Matiyabo and a second, unnamed suspect, agreed to commit a series of forgeries or that one or both of them would convince someone else to commit the crime for them, according to the criminal complaints.
