Jawbone Archway Removed From Captain's Historic Home

EASTHAM — A strange archway built from the jawbone of a finback whale has been taken down from outside a historic home on Cape Cod.The Cape Cod Times reports a jawbone archway was removed from the Captain Edward Penniman House on the Cape Cod National Seashore this week because it is deteriorated and posed a danger to the public.Park officials say the bone was cracked and infested by insects and had become a home to nesting birds.
