The federal law requires gender equality in our schools, and as universities far and wide have dropped wrestling -- Eastern Michigan, Boise State and locally, Bacone among them in just the past few years -- the blame often falls on Title IX.If funding weren't going to women's sports, the argument goes, it could go to wrestling.Well, it's not as simple as that.And neither is what I'm about to say, but I have to think it could help turn the tide for wrestling.Girls wrestling is the answer.Again, I know the truth is more nuanced, but earlier this week, I was reporting a column about girls wrestling in Oklahoma high schools.Read more on NewsOK.com
