As the E. U. moves toward parliamentary elections in June, Europe’s populist right is having a moment. Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has defied predictions of a short tenure. In Spain, political attacks on Socialist Party Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and his wife have created turmoil. The right has also made gains in the Netherlands and Portugal. [time-brightcove not-tgx=”true”] But the biggest fear for those dreading a possible far-right surge across Europe has long been the arrival on France’s center stage of anti-immigrant icon Marine Le Pen and her National Rally (RN) party.

DETROIT — Federal investigators say they have “significant safety concerns” about a Ford SUV recall repair that doesn’t fix gasoline leaks that can cause engine fires. The U. S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is demanding volumes of information from the automaker as it investigates the fix in a March 8 recall of nearly 43,000 Bronco Sport SUVs from the 2022 and 2023 model years, and Escape SUVs from 2022.

Over the last few weeks the world has watched and listened as college campuses across the United States became the focal point of American protest against—and debate about—Israel’s war in Gaza, which has killed more than 30,000 people since the Hamas attacks of Oct. 7. As we often do in these moments, TIME photo editors turned to the photographers closest to the story.

American campuses have not looked like this in more than 50 years, and never for the reasons they do now. The foreign war that students protested in the 1960s and ’70s was one that, even amid draft deferments, threatened their own lives. What has stirred students to risk their safety, enrollment, and future careers on hundreds of campuses this spring is the deaths of others–the 34,000 Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip since Israel launched its retaliation for the Oct.

Donald Trump was not happy. As porn star Stormy Daniels took the stand in Trump’s hush-money trial Tuesday, the former President was “cursing audibly” as she outlined the lurid details of their alleged sexual dalliance from 2006, when Trump was 60 and she was 27. At one point, Daniels claimed that Trump told her: “You remind me of my daughter.” [time-brightcove not-tgx=”true”] Trump, who denies the affair, has a history of going ballistic over far less personal attacks.
