NORTON — The Southwest Virginia high school football season gets underway with a bang Thursday night at 7 p.m. as J.I. Burton hosts Union in their annual showcase game that features some of the top athletes in the area. While the remainder of Southwest Virginia begins play on Friday, the Raiders and Bears like to get the festivities started just a little early.
