Hardcore STAR TREK fans certainly have their issues with the recent J.J. Abrams film reboot of the franchise. Whereas the original series and its sequels were slow, thoughtful, and heady, the reboot was fast-paced, funny, and action-packed -- pretty much everything those series weren't. However, to its credit, rather than muddy the waters of the original timeline, the film created its own, alternate one, allowing for both universes to co-exist peacefully, and in many ways giving some fans a peace of mind that the series they loved wasn't erased from existence.However, up until this point, there was no name for the timeline.
