Mike Nichols, the legendary filmmaker and Oscar-winning director of "The Graduate," died Wednesday evening at the age of 83. Along with his illustrious career, creating some of the most iconic titles in Hollywood history, Nichols was also the husband of ABC News' Diane Sawyer. ABC News president James Goldston wrote in a note to staffers that while Nichols' professional accomplishments spanned more than five decades, nothing made him happier and prouder than his family, and wife, Diane. "Beloved by so many in film, television and Broadway, there was no greater joy in his life than his family, and of course our own Diane Sawyer," Goldston wrote.
