Attorneys for Detroit-area Iraqi nationals recently given a 14-day stay on deportation will ask a federal judge to expand the stay nationwide Monday morning. An emergency hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. before U.S. District Judge Mark Goldsmith in federal court in Detroit. Plaintiffs in the lawsuit filed a motion Saturday for an emergency hearing after discovering that 85 other Iraqis arrested in other parts of the country are facing immediate deportation.
