KINGSPORT — Brett Baty is finding his groove in Kingsport. The Mets’ No. 1 draft pick, and 12th overall pick in the MLB draft, smashed a pitch over the left-field wall in the bottom of the seventh inning to spark the K-Mets to an 8-4 Appalachian League win over the Greeneville Reds at Hunter Wright Stadium on Saturday night. The win was the fourth straight for Kingsport (12-12) and snapped a four-game winning streak for Greeneville (10-14). HOT BAT Baty’s home run was his only hit of the night, but it continued his hot streak at Hunter Wright. The 19-year-old, who was drafted by the Mets out of high school in Austin, Texas, started his professional career this summer in Florida playing for the Mets’ Gulf Coast rookie league team.
