The nursing home industry in Kansas is expecting major changes in the next few years, especially as the state recently cracked down by closing Wichita Nursing Center, 2840 S. Hillside, for more than 50 deficiencies. It was the first license revocation in more than a decade. The Wichita Eagle reports that in addition to the state's crackdown, the industry is facing cuts to Medicaid funding and growing demands from patients and their families, who are asking for more control over their lives.
