CU Buffs coaches Karl Dorrell and Tad Boyle have joined the wave of college athletics leaders taking salary cuts in order to mitigate the financial impact of the coronavirus. Buffs athletic director Rick George announced Thursday that he and his most high-profile coaches — Dorrell, who took over the football program in February; Boyle, the men’s basketball coach; and JR Payne, the women’s basketball coach — will take 10% pay reductions for the 2020-21 fiscal year. The cuts fall in line with a national trend among collegiate athletic departments who face an uncertain financial return in the months to come because of the fallout from COVID-19.
