Digital marketing has hit a few bumps, with Alphabet's (NASDAQ: GOOGL) (NASDAQ: GOOG) YouTube in particular taking some lumps. In March last year, PepsiCo, Starbucks and General Motors pulled ads from the video-hosting service after concerns about the site's inability to root out hate speech. In November, Adidas and HP joined the early companies amid concerns their ads appeared next to pictures of exploited children.
