White House pay czar Kenneth Feinberg said Monday that a number of firms under his jurisdiction remain out of sync with the rest of the nation on the question of executive compensation. "They're missing the outrage expressed by the American people about the size of the compensation and the fact also that the compensation packages, in many cases, are guaranteed, unrelated to performance" Feinberg told HuffPost's Ryan McCarthy at the Milken Institute Global Conference. Feinberg insisted that insurance giant AIG was unique in its insistence on guaranteed executive pay.
