BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – The British monarchy saga The King s Speech leads the Academy Awards with 12 nominations, including best picture and acting honors for Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush.

Senh: Wow. The King's Speech kinda sneaked up on me. I was thinking The Social Network will get most of the nominations. Good to see True Grit get some love from the Oscars, while getting absolutely nothing from the Golden Globes. Oh yeah, and The Tourist is nowhere in site.
