But in a moment of reflection after being awarded the trophy, Murray recalled a time when he was feeling far from settled. In the winter of 2015, a little more than three years before he sat in the PlayStation Theater and heard his name called as the winner of the award, Murray was struggling. He sat in his room at Callaway Villas in College Station, Texas, contemplating his future. “I recall sitting in my room and being miserable,” Murray said, far from miserable Saturday night.
