An objection to the nominating petition of Diane Murphy for an open Lake in the Hills trustee seat was denied Monday after the village's electoral board determined she still had enough signatures to run for election. Lake in the Hills resident Christina Thornrose challenged 21 of Murphy’s 84 signatures she collected, which could have put Murphy’s petition below the 67 required signatures she needed. Village President Russ Ruzanski said of Thornrose's 21 objections, 13 were upheld, leaving Murphy with enough signatures for nomination. Murphy is running alongside incumbent trustees Ray Bogdanowski and Suzette Bojarski, and challengers Jeffrey Jakubik, Michael Schneider and Alan Wilson for one of the three available seats on the village board.
