“Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg won the biggest bet of his career last week when a jury convicted Donald Trump. But his battle with the former—and possibly next—president could continue for years,” the Wall Street Journal reports.
“Bragg, a Democrat, must in the coming weeks decide whether to be the first prosecutor to seek to imprison a former president—or simply leave the matter to the judge.

Politico: “The trial, which is expected to last between three and six days, will dramatize some of the worst moments in Biden’s life. Two witnesses who may testify against him are the mothers of five of the president’s grandchildren.”
“It will be the culmination of years of legal trouble for Biden — and will be a source of pain for the president, who has long told associates that he is deeply concerned about his son’s criminal exposure, including that it could jeopardize his son’s sobriety.”
CNN notes it will be the “first time in American history that the child of the sitting president is going on trial.”
Washington Post: For Hunter Biden, a dramatic day with his brother’s widow led to charges.
“President Joe Biden is set to sign a long-anticipated executive order as soon as Tuesday that would allow him to ‘shut down’ the southern border should crossings surge, according to four people familiar with the administration’s plans,” Politico reports.

“The two ran on the same ticket four years ago under the New Progressive Party, but González, a Republican, announced her plan to challenge Pierluisi, a Democrat, in early December.
