Latest Theft Case Illustrates Problem Of Missing Equipment At Fort Carson

By tom roeder tom.roeder@gazette.com -Prosecutors strained to haul hundreds of pounds of allegedly stolen Army gear into a Colorado Springs courtroom Monday afternoon.The cache included machine gun parts, including .50-caliber barrels, and the latest generation of Army night vision equipment, and for the second time in less than a week, the theft of sensitive military gear from Fort Carson was on display.In the Colorado Springs case, 4th Judicial District prosecutors said Monday that former soldier Torrence Hall conspired to steal more than $100,000 in equipment from the 4th Infantry Division.
