Library Tax May Go To Stockton Voters

STOCKTON — Residents appeared likely late Tuesday night to be granted the opportunity to vote in November on a quarter-cent sales tax increase for 16 years to fund a projected $144 million upgrade to the city’s library, education, recreation and youth services.The City Council listened late Tuesday to a legion of advocates calling for the tax to be placed on the November ballot.
