Live Civil War-era Military Shells Found At Public Library

Abby Noland, director of the Gleason Public Library in Carlisle, tells The Boston Globe (http://bit.ly/2tkunEX ) she found the shells Thursday morning inside a box with a label explaining they had been examined by a munitions expert and they could be live. The state bomb squad later arrived and determined they were live, then took them to the town transfer station to safely detonate them.
