[...] as the Ardenwood Historic Farm, it continues as a working farm and offers a rare opportunity to learn firsthand about agricultural life from a bygone era. At the Patterson house, docents dressed in period attire lead visitors on tours through the restored, two-story Victorian, which contains original furnishings that belonged to the family. The Naturalist Programs offers educational programs for schools and groups by reservation during the week, but on weekends, any visitor to Ardenwood can watch farm chore demonstrations, assist with feeding the animals and help plant, care for and harvest the organic crops. Featuring two antique locomotives — an 1890 steam tank porter named the Ann Marie and an Antelope and Western #1 1889 tank porter engine — it also includes handcar and steam train rides, model railroads, live music and food.
