Local Spelling Bee: Eesha Sohail Wins Again

Eesha Sohail, an eighth-grade student at Norris Middle School, won the Kern County Scripps National Spelling Bee Monday for the second year in a row. The contest, sponsored by KERO 23 and moderated by members of the California Retired Teachers Association, went on 18 rounds in the Bakersfield City School District's Education Center Auditorium before Eesha correctly spelled "osteophyte" and "devaloka" in the last round.
