George Hughes, 69, of Lynn, says that he owes his life to the staff of Union Hospital. Hughes underwent emergency surgery at the facility July 16 to fix a microscopic gastrointestinal tear. Hughes said he is returning to his normal activities and resumed walking last Monday.
