Colorado Springs police officers fatally shot an armed man while responding to a call for a suicidal male with a firearm Saturday, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department. Around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, officers received a call about a suicidal male with a gun in the 4200 block of Deerfield Hills Road, officials stated.

A 3-year-old boy with special needs is missing after he was last seen in Rocky Ford on Saturday, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. Amari Galan was last seen around 4 a.m. Saturday and may have left his home near the 900 block of Washington Street on foot, officials said in a missing person alert Saturday afternoon. Amari is Hispanic and described as 3 feet tall and 30 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing only a diaper. 8212; The man charged with assaulting actor Steve Buscemi on a Midtown street has been held in jail on bond in New York, prosecutors said. Police have said the 66-year-old actor — known for his roles in “Boardwalk Empire,” and “Fargo,” among other performances — was walking in Manhattan on May 8 when a stranger punched him in the face.

8212; Ed Dwight, America’s first Black astronaut candidate, finally rocketed into space 60 years later, flying with Jeff Bezos’ rocket company on Sunday. Dwight was an Air Force pilot when President John F. Kennedy championed him as a candidate for NASA’s early astronaut corps. But he wasn’t picked for the 1963 class. Dwight, now 90, went through a few minutes of weightlessness with five other passengers aboard the Blue Origin capsule as it skimmed space on a roughly 10-minute flight.
