SOUTHWEST HARBOR, Maine (AP) — An independent documentary filmmaker from Maine has survived the earthquake in Nepal, spending the night under a doorway of her Kathmandu apartment as buildings collapsed and roads cracked. The Portland Press Herald (http://bit.ly/1zZHCHl ) reports that 28-year-old Alison Hudson flew in to Kathmandu just hours after filming on Mount Everest before the quake triggered an avalanche that killed at least 10 people.
