For those of you hoping for a Christmas Day viewing of “The Interview,” the controversial comedy starring Seth Rogen and James Franco, the movie has been dropped from major U.S. theaters, including those around the Bay Area, because of threats from hackers against Sony. “Due to the wavering support of the film “The Interview” by Sony Pictures, as well as the ambiguous nature of any real or perceived security threats, Regal Entertainment Group has decided to delay the opening of the film in our theaters,” Regal said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter Wednesday.
