A male participant of the seventh annual PPD Beach2Battleship Triathlon died during the swimming portion of the event on Saturday, according to Set Up Events event director Jeremey Davis. “We are very sorry to report that one of the participants in our PPD Beach2Battleship Triathlon experienced a medical emergency during the event,” said a statement issued to media by Wilmington Family YMCA and Set Up Events.
