Man Arrested In Wildwood Stabbing Identified

Vancouver police have identified Brian C. Toombs, 28, as the man arrested after a stabbing Friday evening in the Wildwood neighborhood. The victim is his mother, 57-year-old Sonya L. Toombs. She  remains in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, according to a media release from the Vancouver Police Department. Shortly before 5 p.m. on Friday afternoon, Brian Toombs called 911 to report that his mother tried to attack him so he stabbed her with scissors, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.
