Man Dies After Being Hit By Bullet At Pike National Forest Campsite

A 60-year-old died Friday in Rainbow Falls Park between Woodland Park and Deckers after deputies believe he was hit by a stray bullet, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said. The man, who was not named, was with family members at a campsite in Pike National Forest when he was shot, according to a Sheriff's Office news release. He was pronounced dead after Douglas and Teller county deputies responded to the park after reports of a shooting around 6:30 p.m., according to the release. Investigators do not think the man's death was intentional, but the possibility was not ruled out, the news release said.
