BOULDER — A man who hit and killed a Colorado State Patrol cadet and injured a trooper while fleeing from police will spend the rest of his life behind bars. Twenty-eight-year-old Christopher Gebers was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison plus 342 years in Boulder for killing Taylor Thyfault (TEE'-foe) and injuring Trooper Clinton Rushing. Relatives of the two men testified during the hearing in which Gebers apologized for the May 2015 crash near Longmont.
