HAZLE TWP. — State police are investigating a fatal crash that killed a man early Monday morning. Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Hazleton were dispatched to a one-vehicle crash in the area of North Church and West 23rd Street at 2:12 a.m. Monday. Police said heavy entrapment was also reported at the time of dispatch. Troopers arrived on the scene to find the vehicle sideways into a utility pole, and the male driver was reportedly still trapped inside and have having difficulty breathing. Police said Hazle Township Fire and EMS crews has to use mechanical extraction to get the man out of the vehicle.
