CHURCH HILL — A Hawkins County man who apparently tried to avoid a Church Hill policed checkpoint Thursday night was charged with his sixth driving on a revoked license charge, as well as drug possession.Around 8:40 p.m. last Friday Church Hill police were conducting a seat belt checkpoint on North Central Avenue when they observed a northbound vehicle pull into a driveway on North Central Avenue just prior to the checkpoint.CHPD Chief Mark Johnson aid the vehicle made a quick turn and almost missed the driveway as it pulled in.“The driver pulled the vehicle up to the garage doors of the residence and the male driver remained in the driver's seat,” Johnson stated in his report.
