MANTECA — Manteca Unified School District trustees have appointed an interim superintendent and will begin looking into the process of hiring a search firm to replace outgoing Superintendent Jason Messer.Trustees promoted Deputy Superintendent Clark Burke on a 5-2 vote to the interim role during a special meeting Wednesday morning. Roger Goatcher, the district’s other deputy superintendent, was also in the running.
