MARION — The Marion Independent school board this week extended the contract of Superintendent Chris Dyer through the 2018-19 school year. The three-year contract — the maximum allowed by the state — replaces a two-year contract signed when Dyer was hired last year.Marion School Board President David Law called the three-year contract a “vote of confidence” for the second-year superintendent.Dyer will be paid $164,480 for the upcoming school year, an increase of 2.8 percent.
