MARION — After 15-year-old Sid Karasek was diagnosed with a chronic illness, she felt like there was no one her own age to turn to for support. “When you’re in pain every day, you want to communicate that and talk to other people about that,” said Karasek, who lives with POTS — postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome — a chronic illness that causes an abnormal rise in heart rate, and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which affects the skin, joints and blood vessels.
