A “Downtown Seattle farewell bash”, described as “a party 342 Sundays in the making,” will mark the final Oct. 5 service at Mars Hill Downtown, as the mega church retrenches  and abandons its 5th Avenue perch in what used to be the Seattle First United Methodist Church. The travails of Senior Pastor Mark Driscoll have cut into donations at Mars Hill Church.  The church is closing three of its “campuses.”  Downtown Mars Hill is slating a “farewell bash” Oct.
