Long before Martin Sexton gained a huge fan base for his pick-less guitar strumming and his wide-ranging vocals as a contemporary troubadour, he was singing and playing guitar in a series of rock bands as a teenager in his hometown of Syracuse. But in the late-1980s, he hopped a train to Boston where his older brother lived.
