Kemba Walker had 17 points and Gerald Henderson added 14 as the Hornets won for only the third time in 10 games to keep pace in the Eastern Conference playoff race. Walker had 12 points in the first quarter on 5-of-7 shooting as the Hornets built a double-digit lead. The Hornets got a break when Drummond picked up his third foul with 8:12 remaining in the second quarter and sat out the remainder of the first half. The Pistons had trimmed the lead to eight with 8 minutes left in the game when Drummond scored on an alley-oop dunk and drew a foul. Jefferson took an elbow to the face from Drummond less than two minutes into the game that sent the 289-pounder to the floor.
