Mchenry County School Spending Per Student Differs By Thousands

McHenry County’s 18 school districts allocate between $5,035 and $10,267 a student in instructional spending annually, according to the latest report from the Illinois State Board of Education. Operating expenditures range from $9,603 to $18,963 a pupil, according to state records. Instructional spending – or the activities directly dealing with the teaching of students and the interaction between teachers and students – includes teachers’ and their aides’ salaries and benefits, textbooks, supplies and services.
