Mchenry Woman Accused Of Hiding Drugs In Tree Charged In Overdose Death

Prosecutors have charged a McHenry woman with an overdose death that police were investigating when she allegedly hid a stash of drugs in a nearby tree. Nicole A. Free, 29, of the 2700 block of Stilling Boulevard is charged with drug-induced homicide in connection with the death of 35-year-old Alan Lippert, according to a criminal complaint filed Friday in McHenry County court. Free is accused of providing Lippert with the heroin and fentanyl mix on which he overdosed in August, the complaint stated. Police arrested Free last month and charged her with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of a controlled substance, possession obstructing justice and destroying evidence.
