Hunger is a growing problem for children and seniors in the Texas Panhandle, according to information released Wednesday by High Plains Food Bank. About 92,000 of the estimated 460,000 people living in the region received food assistance from the food bank and partner agencies over the past year, according to the Hunger in America 2014 study issued by Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief charity.
