About 1,000 dogs and cats from area animal shelters and rescue groups will be available 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday at the latest Mega Adoption Event at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds. Parking and admission are free. Adoptions are $20 for the general public; free for active and retired military.
