MIDDLETOWN – On Tuesday, the Common Council is scheduled to vote on Mayor Joe DeStefano’s $55.40 million budget, that features a $680,000 increase in the general fund and a slight tax hike.DeStefano had hoped to add six police officers and three firefighters, but budgetary realities, including the state’s tax cap, forced him to scale back.
