OMAHA — Missy Franklin didn’t have high expectations going into the semifinals of the 100-meter freestyle Thursday night at the Olympic Trials. It is the weakest of her four events, and the field was loaded with faster sprinters than it was four years ago. She swam the time coach Todd Schmitz thought she needed to advance into the finals, but it wasn’t fast enough and she finished 11th.
