Montgomery County has dropped plans to spur redevelopment of the Apex Building to make way for a larger Purple Line station in downtown Bethesda, County Executive Isiah Leggett said Thursday. County officials had hoped to strike a deal with the building owners, the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, to sell to a developer who would raze the building.
