John Monick celebrated his 95th birthday, Aug. 17, 2017. John has been married to his wife, Dolores, for 67 years. After fighting for his life the past four- months, he was able to walk into a surprise party to celebrate his birthday with friends and family. He worked hard, fought for his country in WW II, was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1942 and was inducted into the Wyoming Valley Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.
