A judgement of $6.8 million has been reached in the case of a Winchester Hospital doctor and his nurse assistant who were sued for malpractice after a patient died following hiatal hernia surgery. Darius Ameri is a Stoneham-based surgeon who specializes in bariatric and general surgery, according to the Winchester Hospital website.
