Founded by Sophia Amoruso in 2006, Nasty Gal quickly grew, peaking in 2014. Her New York Times bestseller “#Girlboss” also helped Nasty Gal attract a strong millennial fan base. However, the last two years have been a roller coaster for the brand. In addition to opening stores in West Hollywood and Santa Monica, Nasty Gal cut 10 percent of its staff, changed CEOs, and was sued by some former employees.
