Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon, who left midway through the third period in Wednesday’s game at San Jose with an apparent head injury, participated in Friday’s morning skate and has been cleared to play against the Anaheim Ducks at Ball Arena. MacKinnon will again center the top line with wingers Gabe Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen, a trio that combined for three goals and nine points in Wednesday’s 4-0 win against the Sharks. Landeskog did not participate in Friday’s morning skate after witnessing the birth of his second child, a boy, Thursday night.
