Nature Watch: American Avocet Spotted At Presque Isle's Gull Point

Cedar waxwings are now nesting. They are quite common at Presque Isle State Park because they like to use the cottonwood seed fluff for lining their nests. An American avocet has been present at Gull Point from Sunday to at least Thursday. The moth with yellow-orange hindwings that is flying now is the large yellow underwing from Europe.
